The sharing economy is disrupting our economies. Companies like AirBnB or Uber are changing the market rules. At the same time their new business models provoke critics, specially in cities with a lot of tourists, like Barcelona. In this Salon event we will discuss about the double edged sword of the sharing economy together with experts. We will start the event watching a TED talk which will explain the success of companies like AirBnB: The currency of the new economy is trust. ¿Is it true?

Afterwards we will enjoy the presence of Elisabeth Casañas, president of the Plataforma Pro Viviendas Turísticas and of Roger Calleja, innovation director of the Gremi d’Hotels de Barcelona. Elisabeth will explain us the situation of the people renting apartments to tourists in Barcelona. And Roger will present us his vision from the point of view of the hotel sector. Each of them will give us a small presentation and then we will start our discussion among all of us: The sharing economy in the tourims sector: in favor or against? We will finish – as at every Salon event – with a networking session where we will invite everyone to drinks and some tapas.
