TEDxBarcelonaSalon:

The four fish we're overeating — and what to eat instead

About this event :

The way we fish for popular seafood such as salmon, tuna and shrimp is threatening to ruin our oceans. Paul Greenberg explores the sheer size and irrationality of the seafood economy, and suggests a few specific ways we can change it, to benefit both the natural world and the people who depend on fishing for their livelihoods.
Why do we like and eat so much fish and meat? Is this OK or should we fell ashamed? We will discuss this altogether and also present various solutions on how to include enough protein in your diet if you want to eat less fish and meat.

The talk (19:00-19:30)
We started showing a TED Talk which presents the current situation of our ‘overfishing’-society (video in English with Spanish subtitles). It gave us a base for the following discussion.

The discussion (19:30-20:30)
After watching the talk we discussed about the subject. What is fine and what is wrong in our current society. We also presented alternatives to eat fish (and meat) and how to get proteins from plants. You can download the slides of the presentation from here.

Networking (20:30-21:30)
As always we finished the event with a networking session while we invited everyone to some drinks and some delicious tapas (included in the ticket price).
