Sie legte ihr BWL-Diplom an der Universität Passau ab und studierte dort auch Wirtschaftsfremdsprachen (Englisch, Spanisch und Französisch) und Jura. Sie arbeitete viele Jahre in der strategischen Unternehmensberatung und erreichte hohe Wachstumsraten für mehrere High-Tech-Startups. Heute ist Johanna Investor und digitale Expertin.
